The Book kept dragging on and the time travel didn't interest me anymore. I need more dark books in my TBR

There are parts of this book that I absolutely loved and are hilarious and other parts that just seemed to drag and I had a hard time paying attention, which is why I'm giving it 3 stars. There are multiple narrators, and the narrators use slightly different voices for each character, which helps in keeping track of the various characters. I give the audio performances a 5, but the overall story a 3 with some very funny bits here and there.

A fast, enjoyable read but I can see why someone included it in the "books I threw across the room" thread.

Really intriguing plot, and the pacing was really slow in the middle, but I found the last 200 or so pages to be very intriguing. This was interesting enough for me to want to read the sequel. Maybe avoid if you don’t want to slog through a bunch of reporting style pages or a slow middle of the book.

Pretty good story but dragged out

I honestly don’t know how I feel about this book. Parts of it were interesting and funny but a lot of it felt like slogging through until the good bits. So many moving parts, characters, timelines, jumps, and the bureaucracy! Time travel is hard. This is a clever idea. Enjoyable but a bit too convoluted and listening to the audiobook was painful with all the action reports and messages towards the end. Those messages were the only thing moving the story forward and the Halloween portion/chat was the worst. It probably wouldn’t have been so bad in print but it was frustrating to get through on audio.

Overall it was okay but I was also disinterested in several aspects by the time I finally finished listening to 24.5 hrs. The ending was also extremely abrupt and didn’t fit in with the over abundance of information from every other scene in the book. I’ll most likely not be reading the sequel(s).
