This is a great book. The premise is ingenious, and the writing style is engaging and at times laugh-out-loud funny. It also has other styles throughout the book - transcripts, diary entries, memos, etc. I enjoyed it throughly and had a hard time putting it down.

A book with an intriguing concept, but flawed in execution. Never read anything by Stephenson or Galland so not sure how typical this is but the plot was slow moving and the climax happened almost out of nowhere. Maybe this was deliberate but it meant the structure was a bit off. So were the characterisations, even of the protagonist despite the majority of the book being presented as her diary.

Jag tycker att den här boken var som bäst i början när den var skriven ur ett mer personligt perspektiv. När organisationen började växa handlade allt mer om organisationen än om karaktärerna och jag som tyckte om karaktärerna tycke att drt var ganska synd att man inte fick läsa ur deras perspektiv. Annars tycker jag att historien var väldigt intressant, det var ett annorlunda perspektiv att läsa ifrån och det var spännande att läsa om alla upptäckter som gjordes osv. Tycker dock slutet var ganska dåligt. Det kändes alltför öppet och det skulle behöva en del två för att avsluta den historia som påbörjades i slutet.

Fun book. The characters are interesting and likable, good variety of strong female characters in different ways. I like that nerdiness is good in Stephenson’s books (polyglots, physicists, etc). The time travel is fun. It makes fun of govt bureaucracy while also working inside it. Not a ground breaking book, but enjoyable and the audiobook was well done.
