This book is very, very, very long. It would have been better if it had been 200 pages shorter. Also, the story only gets interesting in the last 150 pages.
This is a really poor offering from Neal Stephenson. It has a few moments of wit, but it never seriously comes to grips with anything plausible or interesting about its premise. Doesn't make sense even on it's own merits and has a terribly unsatisfying ending. The love story is mildly appealing as are a few of the moments. But it's dumb, and not nearly as funny as it thinks it is.

Time travel hurts my brain but holy smokes this was a great read. Wonderfully clever, witty, suspenseful, and serious (when it needs to be). Didn't at all feel like a 700+ page story

A solid 3 stars if I've ever seen one. Entertaining read, though excessively long, with LOTS of names and acronyms. I didn't care about any character, but the premise of the book book was interesting.
My favourite part was when the reader finally discovers why a character wouldn't stop asking about Lidocaine. I thought it was kinda genius lol. Actually, the whole Siege of Walmart was fun.

Too slow-paced, couldn’t maintain interest.

The description of the Walmart raid in the tone of Beowulf and the multiple structures of narrative were amazing. I wish I enjoyed the story more. I feel like this could have been one of my favorite books ever from structure but I did not find the plot overall satisfying..
