Very detailed analysis of complicated family matters and the effects of fame in 60s-80s America.

This book was the third book I’ve read by this author, so I had a feeling I would like it! It follows two different storylines that are in the present and in the past, which was interesting to see how the background unfolded. The author does a great job of writing about emotions. There were several parts throughout the book where my jaw dropped because of how shocked I was in some parts!

This was fucking fantastic. The tone reminded me a little of We Were Liars or Little Fires Everywhere (I think the doom of fire brings a very distinctly mysterious element to books), but it was also just fabulous on its own right. A story of family and love and what it means to be a parent, but also a story of mystery and a little intrigue. I loved it.
