“She had to choose what, of the things she inherited from the people who came before her, she wanted to bring forward. And what, of the past, she wanted to leave behind.” 💙

This book was heartbreaking, funny, and beautiful all in one. ❤️‍🔥 If you haven’t read it yet — do it. 📖 It lives up to all the hype.

Let’s travel back to August 1983. Four famous siblings throw an epic, end of summer party. Over the course of 4 hours their lives are changed forever. By the end of the night, they have to choose what they will keep from the people who made them and what they will leave behind… 🔥

I found the writing style and characters to be bland. Most of the novel is spent watching the four siblings grow up, and there is some development but they're all pretty one-note. They were endearing, though. I enjoyed the 1960-80s Malibu setting.
