A quick, easy, engaging read, though not a masterpiece by any stretch. The siblings were likeable enough, and I enjoyed both their individual and collective growth. My main issue was that most of the themes and topics already were present in Jenkins Reid's other novels, and were executed a lot better. The corrupting nature of fame, the cheating, toxic relationships, family drama; nothing new was really being brought to the table. That being said, I didn't really hate anything about it, so it's a solid 3.25 for me.

TJR has such a talent to make her characters complex and lovable. On the other hand she'll make you hate them just as easily. This is dual timeline and I usually don't enjoy that but this was so we'll thought out that it didn't bother me at all.

Set in a single day, the Riva family is instantly likeable, their trials relatable and the sibling bond at the centre of the book a really beautiful set of relationships to behold. A fun crossover I didn’t expect with Carrie Soto as wel!

The first half was a 4.0 for me, with potential to reach even higher. Beautiful exploration of characters, relationships, and the web of events and comnections that made the family at the heart of the story. But as part two begins, the pacing, scope of characters, and plotting style all shifted into something completely different. Either style would have been good, but smashing them together felt disjointed and disappointing, especially in how conveniently all the loose little threads wrapped up. I also wasn't a fan of how the absentee father storyline was resolved.

It wasn't Hallmark, but it does wrap up with something of a messy bow. If you enjoy a character getting to finally say their piece to the person who did them wrong you might find it gratifying.
