I recognized the illustrator, so I grabbed it at the library. Nate (4 years old) actually wants to go to bed this week, at first because he loved the countdown, but now he sits and studies the illustrations and giggles while noone is looking. There are a gazillion hamsters doing all sorts of funny things and it is showing me Nate's fun sense of humor.

SO, freakin adorable.
funny lighthearted relaxing

So much to look at in all of the pictures. Look for the Goodnight Gorilla shout out!

In this picture book with neat illustrations, younger kids can count along as a boy leads hamsters on a tour of house right before bedtime.

Read to Sam.

As if bedtime isn't already crazy enough throw in a dozen hamsters for good measure. This book is hilarious as you find new things to laugh at with ever read. Very few words, but the pictures are so rewarding!

Good for one on one, but not storytelling in groups, which is what I was looking for. I think sitting down with a child they'd enjoy all the silly pictures and the simple countdown to bedtime.

This book rocks my world! I could read this to my son a million times and still never get bored. Rathman has so many tiny details in her books, and this one is chock full them! You can track each hamster from page to page, each of them doing funny, quirky things throughout.
