Never read this classic although I’ve seen movie a bunch of times. There are scarier things about Carrie than her telekinetic powers! Pretty dark story and a fun read. It was fun listening to Sissy Spacek read it!

I really enjoyed this on audio. The characters were so believable, and I liked the structure using book and interview excerpts. Religious fanaticism is horrifying as are teenage bullies.

Mi è piaciuto molto il fatto che il libro non sia dal punto di vista di Carrie.  La storia non mi ha mai annoiata e il libro è risultato molto scorrevole.

This was a great book. It's hard to believe that this was Stephen King's first novel. While the plot is simplistic, having a wide diversity of character POVs and articles and books included give a more worldly view of Carrie herself. I really appreciated the small town setting, and the high school setting. It's amazing how well the author can write about emotions. I really liked the metaphors and descriptions in this book. I also liked the talk of religion. The characters were relatable while still being interesting to read about. It was also a really good length. Stephen King tends to be really hit or miss for me, but I enjoyed Carrie as much as I did with Misery. It's a great read for any high school student.
