this book holds a very special place in my heart. my grandma introduced me to the series when I was young. she was a big Isabel Allende fan and she’s sadly no longer with us. I read this book whenever I want to feel more connected to her. I’ve read it about 5 times about the years and it never disappoints.

My parents gave me this book about 20 years ago and for some reason I never read it until now. I think if I had read it at the time when I was in the intended demographic I might’ve liked it, but as an adult this was not very good.

Amo letteralmente questa trilogia. Più vado avanti, più mi sento affezionata ai personaggi, alla storia... Ed un po' mi dispiace che mi manca un solo libro da leggere. Ma si può rileggere, no?
Come il primo, stra-consigliato.

As the second book of a very famous series, I was rather sceptical about whether I would like it or not. Isabel Allende, however, did not disappoint. The story did not get stale or repetitive from the first book, and held just as much meaning and beauty.
