This is a very dark book, with bad people and bad things happening to them and innocent people alike. If you aren't in the right mindset for this book, please be careful. That being said, it has a fascinating world and exploration of its people, so it's worth a read if you can.

I enjoyed Eileen, a different novel by the same author even though it was also dark and had unlikeable characters, however this one was disturbing but also boring and disappointing at the same time

This book felt like a fever dream filled with the most gruesome and depraved things you could ever think of. I found it interesting and wanted to know if it was going to end up more messed up than how it started. But the ending fell flat and it got kind of boring. Even with the little reveal at the end.
