I’m so confused??? Started as / marketed as sports romance but the beginning of the books had much harsher / more bullying vibes in the dynamic / the MMC being just rude and kinda toxic? And then it got slightly more upbeat and as the MCs worked out their issues and got together, you could see signs of a plot from the side characters but it felt like some sort of bullying scandal about reputation/cheating - which it was until it turned into a gang bust with side characters never met before that resulted in a death ??? But then everything for the MCs worked out?

She did it again! Ashley Claudy sucked me into the story and I kept telling myself just one more chapter. Next thing I knew, I had finished the book in just a few hours. I liked that Brook wasn't quick to submit to Drew's advances and LOVED how protective he was over her. Storyline was left open for more books about these two character so I'm crossing my fingers. *ARC received via author in exchange for an honest review.

The only thing I remember from this book was how the story should’ve ended after the third-act break up. I truly didn’t want them to get back together. The owd was too much…it felt like the mmc didn’t even consider the fmc after the ex came around.
The fmc deserved better.

Im currently in the middle of reading this and... yikes. The amount of coercion this ML is pulling with the FL to get sex is horrible. Ill check back and revise when I read more.

Is this juvenile bullshit the reason I never read these books anymore? Like have I grown too old to find it fun and exciting when they are all dramatic for literally no reason?

Perhaps its my age showing but the entire book was super juvenile and it was hard to read. There were some editing errors but it was just so contrived, all of it.
