This was my first time reading Shakespeare. It wasn't at all what I expected and how I imagined Shakespeare’s plays would be.
it’s my second shakespeare’s book and it’s shakespeare when he had so much fun, the book is hilarious

I’m still very curious how Christianity, Germanic Fairies and France made their way to Theseus era ancient Greece, but ultimately that barely matters. If you’re not too pedantic about those inconsistencies, there is actually a very charming story found here.
At first, it might get a bit confusing with all these characters in different shapes of relationships with each other – characters loving characters who love someone else – but it should be easy to follow if you pay attention, even after Oberon messes up and rearranges the established love triangle (square).
The only real downside is that Peter Quince and his fellows are not as funny as they want to be, which is a shame because they are otherwise really nice guys. Their b-plot feels very unnecessary and distracting. This is true especially towards the end. The love plotline between Hermia, Helena, Demetrius and Lysander is resolved by the end of Act 4, so Act 5 is dedicated almost entirely to Peter Quince and fellows performing a completely unconnected theater play in honor of Theseus’ marriage that was probably funnier to an Elizabethan audience.
