This started off good but by the time I got to about 60% it just started dragging and then never seemed to end...

I love drama so the ‘shitty husband who has to crawl his way up to his wife’s good graces’ is one of my favorite tropes.
That being said, Bryce does some incredibly shitty things that the author fights her way to justify and imo wasn’t able to.
I was still mad at him at the end and had to rewrite the ending to fit my needs but any book with a happy ending is a good one to me.

I’m not gonna lie and tell you that this isn’t a good romance.

This just wasn’t for me. I found it to be very ridiculous and very unrealistic when it came to the sub plot of why our hero hated his wife.

The couple just didn’t feel right to me and I just couldn’t get into their story because of how unbelievable and ridiculous the subplot was.

I loved the first book, The unwanted wife. This was just disappointing!

Bronwyn left two years earlier when her husband, Bryce, told her to get out after learning she was pregnant. Struggling to make enough to support herself and her child, she is discovered when she becomes ill and Bryce brings them both home. She is shocked to find out that he was in an accident while she was gone and is now deaf.
Both of them have misunderstood the other and now fears and mistrust run deep. With the help of their adorable child, they must find a way back to each other.
I enjoyed this story; it tugs at one's heartstrings. Parts of the storyline were just a little too 'over-the-top' for me at times, but both Bryce and Bronwyn make for a nice couple and their romance is just different enough to make their story interesting and a bit different than the usual fare.

I picked this one up as soon as I was done with the first book. I loved the first one for all of the angst it delivered. I put me back into that genre of books that I thought only existed in fanfics. You know the rejected partner stories and the journey to win them back. I was truly driving that when I started the first book and I just wanted it more when I picked this book.

But it just didn't deliver what I was hoping for..? Idk it's just hard to live up to the expectation of the first one.
Most of the plot relies on miscommunication, like a lot of things are kept a secret throughout the story and once they are revealed I'm like " this could've been solved in 1 honest conversation". The plot was just a bit fragile
Don't get me wrong this was GREAT, the emotional aspect of the story was on point I loved the tension and anger that the MMC showed, I can't explain it that angry dotting nature like he is taking care of her but like in an angry way. That part was just so great.

I loved how disability played a part in the story it really added a lot drama and emotions into the scenes where it was mentioned and I loved it so much all that vulnerability is just chefs kiss.
I also like the fact that it happens in South Africa, I was rlly surprised and glad that it took me out of the American scene that a lot of romance books are set in.
