Great book for anyone starting on the management path in SE.
It covers a lot of aspects of the role without in too much details and contains many examples and use cases.
It has great references for other resources so that you can deep dive in the subjects that are of interest for you.

A must read for DevRels

As a developer advocate, my own career ladder is part engineering and part community management. I found the insights in this book applicable for all areas of developer relations as well. I have so many highlights to review regularly from this.

My first book of the year is non-fiction, and a book for work at that! Who even am I???!?!?

That being said, this is a super readable and humane take on the work of software engineering management. It seems mostly oriented to someone just starting out or very new to managing software engineers, but even so, there are a lot of very practical thoughts useful for more experienced folks as well.

Easy to read and filled with lots of good advice. I wanted to read a book about engineering management because I had in the past bad experiences with some managers and wanted to know more about the do's and the don'ts of the job, whilst being confronted with different perspectives. I also think that several tips and tools shared in the book can be useful for pretty much any tech worker.
