This book is one of my favorite sub-genres; essentially a locked room mystery set during the winter. The atmosphere of this book is absolutely chilling. The author did a phenomenal job at detailing Antartica and creating bone-chilling thrills. This is definitely a slow-burn, but it is so important to build up the tension that comes from the dark isolation, creating that claustrophobic feeling. Each character had their own secrets which made them all very suspicious. I was completely thrown off by all the twists and turns, I didn’t see the ending coming. I really enjoyed all aspects of this book. It was chilling and terrifying, intense and atmospheric. It was a perfect winter read. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a winter thriller!

This was a very atmospheric tale, I really felt like I was there in Antarctica, which was a relief as it was one hundred degrees with the humidity today! I loved the detailed descriptions of the snow, ice and oh all that darkness...It was very creepy. I was really engrossed in this story as there was always something happening and that kept my attention and interest piqued throughout and I liked that there were lots of suspects to choose from. There are some hot topics, such as addiction, in this book so it has a very contemporary feel to it. If you enjoy books like Agatha Christie's "And Then There Were None" this is something you should pick up!

This was tense, atmospheric, and dark. The first half of the book was slower and somewhat repetitive. When it took off at about the halfway mark, it was a fun read.

dumb detectives are fine but dumb detectives that are presented as smart annoy me a lot. the setting was cool, I guess.
There are so many suspects and the atmosphere is brilliant!
