The subject is one that I believe is important for a wide audience - those who identify with gender issues and those who don't understand gender issues. That being said, the writing was juvenile and pedantic (yes, I know the author is a 15-year old kid, but hello . . . ). While I empathize with the author, I had a hard time getting past the author's narcissistic attitude and inflated ego. The incessant name dropping was nauseating, and I think I even lost a contact lens from all the eye rolling I did throughout this book.

this is a memoir so i’m not giving it a star rating!

Jazz is such a beautiful, inspiring, normal person!! who deserves every experience!! just like everyone else!! trans or not!!

i’m so glad to have read this memoir and to have young people like her writing memoirs and telling their stories!!

we’re paving the way for a better, more inclusive future, and Jazz is one of the incredible people contributing to that. ❤️

I like the trend of having young people write memoirs, you get an honest look through someone's eyes. With stories like Jazz's, there is also the ability to see how the author grows over time and how memories impact them. Hopefully, they will write another one when they are an adult. I saw the Australian documentary about Jazz when I was an teen, it helped me recognise that I wasn't cis. Being able to see someone grow as a Trans person is heartwarming. 4/5 recommend for anyone who wants to understand the trans experience.

I remember watching a few episodes of this show and I found it interesting. It his book was also interesting. I feel like if I watched the show it would be similar to that. It just briefly and generally talks about her life. I wish we got more details but I also understand Jazz wanting things to herself. I do wish she had an updated book, it would be nice to see how college went and what she’s doing now.
I’d recommend this book.
