This was a tough one to rate. I absolutely loved the first 2 books and was looking forward to the conclusion. While I enjoyed reading the finale, I couldn't help feeling a bit let down. By the end of it I hated Lyrna, which I get was kind of the point but I think AR took it too far in that direction. It was still dramatic etc. and kept my attention throughout, with the occasional dip in the plot e.g. Reva's entire storyline.

I'm all for the whole non-happily ever after stuff but really, I will never get over Dahrena's demise. She was the one character I hoped would survive! I'm still bitter. Which, depending on how you look at it, could be a sign that this was a great book.

I'll count this as one to re-read in the future, particularly the first 2 books, but I have others that I'd go to first.

Satisfactory, even if it feels rushed. Now that I know there's a new trilogy beginning, let's see what Vaelin does.

How awful. It's astounding for a trilogy to reduce from something as brilliant as Blood Song to this piece of boring, feeble, nothing-make-sense, anticlimactic of a final. Duh. I am glad it was over.

The characters started to sound similar to each other. Vaelin spent most of his time doing mainly nothing. I lost interest and didn't care what was going to happen anymore.

A solid finish to a great trilogy. I would, however, say that it is the worst of the three books. There were three things that bothered me with the book. First, the middle of Queen of a Fire is on par with Tower Lord and Blood Song, but the end, and especially the beginning, felt very forced and unlike the rest of the series. Second, the back story that we were finally given in the book left me with more questions than it answered; questions that would have made the plot much more wholesome and compete. Finally, the antagonist that had been built up over the last two books didn't make a difference in the book. He had been described as one of the most powerful beings, and yet there is only about one page where he seems to be a threat to the protagonist. Even with the faults, the story line was interesting to follow and it kept my interest throughout the book, though that may have been a byproduct of the first two books. All in all, I fell in love with the characters over the first two books, and I enjoyed reading their conclusion.
