Lacey Carter Andersen is quickly growing into one of my favorite authors. So, when I got the chance to read an arc of this prequel I couldn't say no. Even though I'm participating in the N.E.W.T.'s and actually don't have time to read books that don't fit into the prompts. (I would be able to fit this book in with some trying, but I'm not doing it!) Luckily this prequel was quite short and luckily dad is watching football, so I read the story right after I got it.

What I love about this short prequel, is that it really sets the atmosphere and shows us something of the world and the challenges our characters will face. Nothing is explained. I assume that the world building will eventually come in the first book of the series, but I think that's what makes this prequel work. It doesn't answer anything. It just shows me what an interesting world might be waiting for me. I already have quite some questions and I can't wait to get all the answers.

Even though a big part of this book is about the sex, I somehow never had the feeling that it was just sex. Probably because even the very vivid sex scene was drenched in emotions and feelings. Yes, we knew what they were doing and which body part was where, but we also knew what it meant to the guys, to her. We knew what they wanted and longed for, we knew what they were afraid of. It made the sex interesting.

On top of that there is the last chapter of the story. We know that something is about to go wrong, that something is about to change and yet the scene stops when the excitement is still rising and rising. It's a good thing that I already have the first book in my e-mail, because I can't wait to figure out what has happened. Although I'm quite sure that answer won't be given in the first chapter. If we even already get it in the first book.

A nice first glimpse that certainly screams for more!

Potential!

Not my favorite read but it was interesting enough. Some dialog was a little weird, can't put my finger on it. Still enjoyed the read.

This was a quick, spicy read. Esmeray is lonely with her brother and his friends, her friends gone at the Academy. A place she will never go. However, wishing for what will never be is a fools game. Rught?

Brief teaser.

Not sure yet.
Too brief to tell. But I’m not enjoying how young and overly dramatic they sound.

"Esmeray, Bron, Dwade, and Lucian are hot. I love that Esmeray isnt afraid to use her dark powers and she isnt the innocent girl the guys left behind. "

Revere it is the prequel for Lacey Carter Andersen's Royal Fae Academy series. If you like fae, a FMC who isn't afraid of the 'dark' side and hot guys, this is the book for you to introduce you to the series.

I was kindly provided with an ARC by the author, but I'm leaving a voluntary and honest review.

Revere is the prequel to Lacey Carter Andersen’s Royal Fae Academy series and this book is everything! This author introduces readers to Esmeray before she goes to attend the academy and I devoured this prequel.
I love the darkness of this story. The author promises ghosts, monsters, steamy, and drama and trust me when I say that she delivers on every point. Is it crazy that other than the steamy scenes I loved the scenes with the monsters? I love the darkness of it and how she is connected with and to them.
This short story is a delicious treat that had me coming back for more. The author expertly piques my interest in what is to come in her upcoming series and I can’t wait to dive in.
I am rating this story 5 out of 5 stars. If you love dark, steamy, with a few surprises then I’m sure that you are going to enjoy this book.
