I did trip myself up a bit because it's been over a year since I read oryx and crake so I spent bits of this book trying to remember what had happened. A few people had said the books don't rely too heavily on each other, but I'd disagree with that.
In true Atwood fashion, this is a beautifully written book - with characters who are flawed and understandable. The plot flicks between characters and timelines which I always enjoy.
I do take issue in these sorts of apocalyptic stories when the survivors all know each other, which does happen in this to a degree - but I'll take it for the sake of story.
I'll look forward to the last in the trilogy, and will try and get to to quicker this time!

Plot is a bit hard to follow and manic at times with all sorts of different characters. Not quite as exciting as Oryx and Crake and feels a bit rushed at the end to give unnecessary explanation and closure. Still pretty entertaining.
