This was so cute!!!! I loooved Fizzy as a main character and Conner was so so swoon worthy. The reason it’s not a 5 star for me is bc I haaaated the reason for the third act breakup- felt so dumb and immature which didn’t feel in line with these characters. And then it was like another 100 pages before things started to work back out, which felt like it could have been shorter. But overall I loved it. Read it out of order but will definitely be reading The Soulmate Equation soon!
Fizzy has been in a dry spell, romantically and artistically, so discouraged by her own love life that she has lost the inspiration to write the romance books she is famous for. When she is approached by Connor Prince, a documentary filmmaker who has been saddled with the task of creating a reality dating show by his production company, and is asked to be the show's lead, Fizzy hopes this may be a way to get her head back in the game. But as Connor and Fizzy get to know each other on an intimate level, she begins to wonder whether her true love is in front of the camera... or behind it.
.
I have to say, this was one of the steamiest CL books I've ever read, and I loved it. The obvious attraction and chemistry between our two leads was undeniable from the start and there was an adorable foundation to their romance. Their secrecy and inability to resist one another was such a thrill. I was glad the plot really didn't focus too much on the dating show itself, though I think I'd pay the see THAT final montage brought to life. I didn't even care that I had somewhat predicted the ending early on because I was happy to see it come about.
.
I didn't love the denial trope, because I felt like there were plenty of ways around it, but then we wouldn't have the last 150 pages of "will they or won't they" to make the ending all the more exciting. CL is becoming an insta-buy for me.

Ate and left no crumbs. I can always count on delivering that cute rom com vibe, with the spunky, escentric, FMC that ties off with a comfy HEA
