At 3/4 of the way through, I skipped to the last chapter as otherwise I didn't see myself finishing. The main characters were essentially in a relationship at the 25% mark and had spent everything since then setting up both that they are soulmates and would have a 3rd act breakup. I don’t want to slog through 100 pages for them to work it out. It’s too long at 400 pages and I say that with some of my favorite books all being 500+ pages. There's a line in this where Connor says he thinks that writing Romance where everyone knows the ending but still wants to go along for the ride is what makes Romance books so incredible as a way to boost Fizzy's spirits. This didn't make me want to go along for the ride.

Fizzy is a romance novelist who is dealing with a bad case of writers block. Connor is a filmmaker specializing in documentaries that has just been told that his next project will be a reality TV dating show. They join forces on an attempt to resolve her writers block and keep him from losing his job.
Fizzy drew me in from the very first page with her humor and straightforward dialog. I loved the witty banter and the build up between the two main characters, Fizzy and Conner. I became deeply invested in their relationship and by 3/4 of the way through the book and well past when I would usually go to sleep, needed to finish the book. A great binge worthy read to take on vacation this summer.

Every book I read by the romantic comedian duo Christina Lauren is always a 10/10. Fizzy was such a hoot!

I really like this series and am kinda sad we likely won’t get another one. The DNA Duo is such a cool sci-fi idea weaved into such a spicy-sweet romance. I love all the stuff with the kids and of course the dual POV’s is my favorite.
