DRAAKENWOOD was another great addition to the series! I won't go into detail because I don't want to spoil things but we're getting closer and closer to the arrival of the Masters. I liked that we see Whyborne start to lean on those who want to support him and we're also beginning to see him take on a leadership role.

Reading the Whyborne and Griffin books is like taking an ongoing masterclass on how to write the perfect series. I have no idea what Widdershins sorcery Jordan L Hawk taps into when she writes these books, but somehow she makes each one equal to or better than the last. I still love these characters. I love how they are all evolving and how natural it all seems, with their intertwined relationships that just grow organically and beautifully with each epic story.

Draakenwood is another excellent installment in the W&G series, with all the excitement and creepy stuff we've come to expect. The trademark humour is still there too, with the oblivious Whyborne and the naive Miss Parkhurst finally clueing in to the other's relationship status with Griffin and Persephone respectively. I loved seeing Whyborne and Persephone being very normal and sibling-like with their little spats, but still being protective of each other when it counts.

If you've made it to Book 9, you're clearly a fan and you will no doubt find Draakenwood a thoroughly wonderful story. Your only job now is to convince all your friends to read this series too, while you wait patiently for the next awesome book ;)

I don't know how this author keeps pulling these stories out, and keeping everything from getting stale. Giving the characters more power, but never making them feel over the top. Great job, as always.

There’s no point in rehashing the plot seeing as how this is book 9.

Just know that this time around, Whyborne and Griffin’s enemy takes on an even more personal bent bringing fresh new horror and tying together loose threads that started all the way back in the first book, [b:Widdershins|16128152|Widdershins (Whyborne & Griffin, #1)|Jordan L. Hawk|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1352121658s/16128152.jpg|21952704].

For historical paranormal supernatural enthusiasts this continues to deliver, and never fear as JLH consistently brings the emotions, feels, and sexy as well. Tense and wrought with suspense as the terror and gore’s ratcheted up a few more notches, all serving to propel family and friends to stand together and win together.

Again, impressive in scope and complexity. Two more books are supposedly left, and I both look forward to them and dread the ending of this wonderful adventure!

Not the best book in the series in my opinion, but the final 25% was exciting and satisfying. Looking forward to the last 2 books in the series!

While I hated what I listened to of the audiobook, I absolutely loved the ebook. It had everything I expected from a Whyborne & Griffin novel. It was exciting and well paced. I loved that this one didn't focus on a fault in their relationship but instead was built on its strength. I am definitely going to jump right into the next book!

Very nice continuation, with plenty of little "Oh no, now what are they going to do?" moments, but it still works out in the end.
