I honestly loved this book

Seeing Aslan and Quaid become parents brought literal tears to my eyes, I cried for this couple who we have seen grow so much together and individually.

The case was also very interesting. I hate when it involves kids but I was so invested in finding out what the family was hiding, I couldnt stop reading, I had to find out what the answers were

I could not recommend this series more, I loved watching Quaid and Aslan's journey, everyone give this series a read

Also, the authors note broke my heart, thank you Nicky for this ending <3

A good wrap-up to the series with Aslan and Doyle getting to start their own family. There’s a lot of nods to how much they’ve grown, and the accompanying mystery is exciting (albeit a bit too much in my opinion - could have done away with some layers) and relevant to the overall themes of trust and family ties.

If there was one thing I really felt was missing,
I needed a significant scene of Quaid with his dad. I needed that bit of closure and bonding for them!

Finally my grumpy bear Quaid is having the family he always wanted!! I’m so happy for this book, Quaid and Aslan are going to start a new chapter in their relationship and I couldn’t be happier for them!! Quaid excessive stress about everything is perfect is fun and of course Az is there for him always! This was the perfect way to say goodbye this his amazing couple! I’m sad for it but happy that we get to watch Quaid’s drama come through!! Excelente series!!

Quaid and Aslan awaits their baby's arrival while grappling with a case of a missing child. My idiosyncratic, stubborn Quaid and his flirty, reckless Aslan have grown so much, as individuals and as a couple. They were flawed characters that have found so much growth and love with each other. Quaid's protectiveness of Aslan, Aslan's love for Quaid's weird quirks, and the way he soothes his insecurities - they make each other better and stronger versions of themselves.

This final book is their journey to fatherhood, and wraps up their story perfectly with a hard-earned, well deserved HEA. Plus the found family's love, support and razzing (props for Ruiz, Jordyn and Torin) are all so good. The mystery is solid but heartbreaking in parts. I wasn't ready at all to say goodbye to one of my most favourite book couples ever...and yes, there were tears, at the end and everywhere else.

P.S. the book will be released 24th June, I got it early as I ordered from the author's store. And I'll be living for Quaid/Aslan cameos in her other series!

Perfect ending to a wonderful series.

Just knowing that this would be the last Valor and Doyle mystery and that these two amazing men would become dads made me have feelings from the very start.
I loved how Quaid’s idiosyncrasies have become a bit less all consuming throughout the series and in this final instalment his acceptance (sometimes begrudgingly)of things that were previously causing meltdowns is so good to see. Aslan is as always Quaid’s greatest supporter and their absolute love and devotion to each other shines through. With their baby due at anytime Quaid finds himself immersed in a child abduction case and boy does it have twists and turns with suspects galore. Before long Aslan is helping as are all the usual team members from previous books. The bromance between Quaid and Costa is at its strongest with plenty of quips that had me laughing. Aslan’s ridiculous choices for possible baby names had me snorting and his final choice had me holding back tears.
This was an engaging story with a very intriguing mystery element balanced perfectly with the nuanced story of becoming new dads - the joy, the fears and and everything in between. I loved every minute and know that I’ll miss Quaid and Aslan but was so delightfully happy for them at the end.
