Classic Jennifer L. Armentrout.
I just found this book so enjoyable. It's not some deep philosophical book it's just an addicting epic joyride. I just wanted the story to never end. I'm so excited to continue reading more and more of her books. She writes like 10 years so I can not wait.

My-my-my this book was hawt! Best friends realizing that they're actually in love with each other? Ah, now those are the kinds of romances that can be sweet, passionate, painful, and just make a reader's toes curl in pleasure. Which is exactly what this book does! J Lynn (AKA Jennifer L. Armentrout) is an amazing writer. She's wonderful at weaving her magic writing and hooking readers into the story. Frigid is no different, man it will keep you up late into the night!
Sydney is your average bookworm, with a serious up tight attitude. She's always on time, gets stellar grades, and is a bit of a goody two-shoes. (Is anyone else noticing how often Armentrout's female leads are bookworms . . . fan pandering.) Kyler is goooooooood looking and quite the smooth talker. One look at him and you want him, then he opens his mouth and you've got'sta have! These two have amazing chemistry. Man I was just flaming up!
Yet, despite all the heat, passion, romance, some sweet moments, and laughs . . . their was anger and quite a bit of indignation. Kyler is a man whore. Sure the author throws in some shiny moments where he takes a girl to his place, but he does not sleep with her. However, he's a man whore enough that Syd thinks he can't keep his dick out of any woman. But underneath all of that he's only trying to hide his unrequited love for Syd. Which is funny because he has this huge revelation towards the end that he loves Syd. Bam, it hits him. But Armentrout tries to have moments where Kyler is suppressing something concerning Syd . . .
Then there's Syd. Right from the get go readers know that she has unrequited love for Kyler. Every man whore thing he does hurts her. Everyone can see this. (Heck, everyone can see how Kyler just wants her for himself.) Not only is she a bookworm, but she's only really had one boyfriend (that I suspect she was trying to use to camouflage her feeling for Kyler) and of course it wasn't good. The one time they had sex was a doozy. No matter how piggy Kyler is she doesn't want to jeopardize their friendship. It's like self abuse! He means too much so she can't tell him how she feels because their friendship would end. Obviously she's not worthy (and yes Kyler doesn't think he's worthy of her) and then she just knows Kyler is such a slut that he could not handle that kind of relationship with a woman. Even when he royally fugs up this is what her best-friend says:
I shouldn't read too much into it (ha-ha) and should just enjoy the show. But it irks me! He's so in love with her that he screws everyone else! What the hell! If you love someone soooooooo much that you're on a self destructive path and you actually put up with all that crap, TELL THEM HOW YOU FEEL before they get a sexually transmitted disease. Also, how could they both not notice how in love the other person was with them. If they know each other so well it doesn't take a rocket scientist. I wanted to read about Sydney dating someone else and moving on because I thought Kyler was such a schmuck. I'm tired of that excuse in the quote above. The scenario was unbelievable. It was painful at times. Maybe I'm one of the few who felt that way, but I just get tired of all the crap. Why couldn't Syd have had a wonderful relationship before with amazing sex! Why does she have to basically set herself up in a horrid relationship to get abused because she can't have her man. Yes, they both think that by stepping up their relationship they will ruin they're friendship.
OK-OK! All that unbelievable drama is what makes this book addicting, and others I've liked. But it was too much. Kyler needed to have his dick whacked, not in the good way. So, this book will definitely make you feel intense things. Roller-coaster of insane emotions! Weeeeeee! If you're not touchy about the things mentioned above you'll just love this book. Or maybe you'll enjoy the passion her so much that you'll be able to ignore it for the most part. Despite how much I found certain parts infuriating, it was a great book! No really. It was awesome.
Sexual Content: New Adult with steam scenes. This ain't Young Adult, o-ho-o-ho-no! Sex my people, lot's of hot-to-trot sex.
3/5- Adored it, just a few minor details held it back.

It was like meh, but also friends to lovers is not my fav trope
Review by: Amanda at Of Spectacles and Books
Why I chose this book:
As most of you know, I don’t read enough contemporary novels, nor have a read many books in the NA category. After finishing a number of novels by Armentrout (more like binge reading), I decided to give some of her NA books a shot.
3 things you need to know about this book:
1. Cool plot.
The romance aside, the plot was still there and it was surprisingly decent. Kyler and Sydney decide to take a trip up to his parents’ cabin in the mountains, and a snow storm keeps the rest of their friends from making it up there -and them from leaving the cabin. Obviously, we’ve all read similar books like this. Back up generators die, body heat is traded, and sexual frustration out the wazoo, right? Okay, so this book is a little generic and contains a recycled in plot, but it’s still good. Throughout the week of being cooped up in the cabin, odd things start happening. Things that only a person would do in order to terrorize and frighten. It’s an all around good story and kind of reminded me of Chill Factor by Sandra Brown.
2. The Romance.
So obviously this is an NA novel, and it will have sex. Well, this one’s pretty steamy in that area, and if you’re looking for one of those reads that has both plot and steaminess, this definitely will be the book for you. All steaminess aside, I loved the development of Kyler and Sydney’s romance. They knew each other from when they were kids. It didn’t feel like an insta-love story though! It was gradual and showed the development even though it was mostly in the past. It was gentle and kind, and you could see that they not only loved each other but also respected one another.
3. New Adult.
Again, I don’t read many NA titles, but I was glad that I read this one. I loved their age, partially because it reminded me of my own. They were about to start their last semester in college, and they had found a love worth fighting for. Yeah, it’s cheesy, but my romantic heart just ate this stuff up.
Final Thoughts:
If you want a nice, steamy winter/Christmas read in the middle of the hot summer, this should definitely be on your list. It was fun and relatively short. I read it in practically one sitting. All of Armentrout’s work is good, and needless to say, I am pretty impressed so far. I’ve read 6 of her books in the matter of 4 days.
I would give this book a 3.7 rating

I found Frigid to be a quick and pretty cliched read. This one just didn't live up to what I've come to expect from J. Lynn's work, now I'm not saying it was bad because I still liked it but I just didn't love it and main reason for that is because of the characters mainly Sydney. I'm not a fan of reading about characters like her who are so insecure with serious trust issues and always jumping to conclusions about things.
As for Kyler he is a man-whore but we learn that even he has had feelings for Sydney for quite some time and he is slightly a little too overprotective of Sydney when it comes to other guys. I found Kyler to be a more tolerable character even with his player qualities which is saying something. He thinks Sydney deserves better then him which is why he never pursued a real relationship with her but at the same time he can't stand the thought of her being with someone else. Okay I get it he sleeps with practically every female that comes on to him but later on we saw that he has no issues being a one woman guy so I'm a little confused on why he thought Syd deserved better then him, his reasoning wasn't really fully explained.
What I did like was the fact that this wasn't an insta-love type of book but the fact that they were childhood friends so there was depth to their relationship. I also enjoyed the sexual tension between the characters up until the point where they finally hooked up. After that it was just a lot of sex between the two and Sydney going through her trust issues. Although I did find myself saying "Finally!" when Syd got the courage and admitted her feelings to Kyler.
There was also a sub-plot of someone trying to hurt them while they were at the cabin and I don't know I just found it to be completely out of place and it was way to predictable I already knew who it was from the very start and it frustrated me to think why the characters didn't figure it out and then the whole how can they be having sex when someone was literally stalking their cabin.
Overall as you can see I had a few issues with the book but I still liked it as a whole just wasn't my favorite.
