I enjoyed Franny but found Zooey intensely boring. Imagine if JD Salinger had to write a book without including smoking or the words "incidentally" and "invariably". It would probably be about 10 pages long.

I now understand why I’ve been told to read this so much. More phenomenal writing by Salinger.

Highly recommend reading Nine Stories first, or at least A Perfect Day for Bananafish, before heading to this one.

Super dense and drawn out/rambling for such a short book. Not sure I see the point at all - Salinger’s other books do a better go on with similar (or same) themes. Moments were great, but not enough to redeem the novella for me.
