If anyone doesn't know, I am completely OBSESSED with the Ernest Cunningham series, and these books might be the most unique of anything I have ever read. I need to stop lazing on my bum and start reading his backlist because I am going to love them if they are anything like this series. Though it is definitely helpful to have read [b:Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone|60879779|Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone (Ernest Cunningham, #1)|Benjamin Stevenson|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1663127884l/60879779._SY75_.jpg|94183542] first, I would say that you could technically read this as a standalone if you would like to, but be advised that it will mention spoilers to book 1 if you do.

For this installment, our MC Ernest is on a train housing a crime-writing festival, and many fishy people are on board. Some trying to find the killer, while others are trying to stay under the radar. On the path to the murderer are many surprises as well as some hair-raising adventure! I listened to the audiobook and was very happy to learn that Barton Welch was back as the main narrator. He couldn't be more perfect to be the voice of Ernest, and the way he reads this series is just impeccable. Two parts at the end of the physical book are read but acknowledgments do go rogue as every person who worked on this book is listed instead of most of what is actually in the book. I appreciate what he was doing, but as a consumer, I skipped over most of it.
