the writing in this was supremely juvenile and most of the plot twists were very predictable, also this was more sad and frustrating than scary or thrilling? The motive makes sense, but I wasn't rooting for a single character

I liked this better in middle school. Also, I think the "updates" somehow dated a lot of things more.
As a big slasher film nerd i had a lot of expectations for this one, I saw the movie before reading it because both are old as fuck and didn’t know the film was based on a book until last year, and that was my big mistake.
I thought it was gonna be at least a little bit similar to the movie but it wasn’t, it was almost a completely different story, it had its good parts but to be honest it was really boring and monotonous, i think the only loveable part was the characters and just sometimes.

- I Know What You Did Last Summer is a great descpitive novel about four friends, illegally smoking pot and driving drunk, who accidentally hit a young kid and make a pact that no one would tell about what happened that fatefull summer.
One day, Julie, one of the friends recieves a letter with the words, "I know what you did last summer" whritten on it. She ignores it at first, but then bad things start happening to the friends over that one deed that happened that summer.
Three Words; I Love It!
Lois Duncan has created another hit that has been created into a well-known movie, but I prefer the book. Its legendary! It goes into depth with the diolouge and the ending will leave you shocked. It a real page-turner [not trying to sound so boring] but this book is wonderful and I suggest you go out and buy, it, get it from the library or SOMETHING! Just go get this book!
