Picked this book up on a whim and let me tell you that the cliffhanger just about killed me. Pretty easy read and the story swept me up quickly.....it was exciting to see how Thayer and Salem had that spark but they knew it would be difficult to be together for a ton of reasons. There is a child's death in this book (one I did not see coming) so be aware of that. That ending though just about killed me....on a quest to get my hands on the second book so I can see what happens to these two.

A reread for me! This story hits all the emotional feels and has a lot of heavy topics. I love that the book not only has a romantic relationship between Salem and Thayer, but it also explores a self-discovery journey for Salem. There are many sweet moments, and also many that will break your heart. The ending is unconventional and leaves you with a cliffhanger, so be sure to have the next book ready to go!

I’ve never read anything better. I was crying, breathing hard, heart was palpitating, thought I was going to throw up. I am so gut wrenchingly distraught it’s not even fathomable. I downloaded the second book as soon as I finished the first.
