I enjoyed this book for the most part. It was interesting to see the development of Pixar from a financial standpoint. I did find the second part about going public to be a bit of a slog, but all in all I'm glad I read it.

This was a delight to read. I didn’t think I’d be interested in the business aspects of Pixar’s story, but Levy made it interesting and almost like a story… it had me thinking “what comes next?” What a story, and even cooler that it all actually happened.

Amazing book. The best way to think about this book is as an excellent trip through the process of building. The Middle Way imagery was apparent throughout the book - lots of dualities: Creativity and business discipline, Steve and Larry, Disney and Pixar, Entertainment and Tech. Lots to unpack and take home.

This was an interesting read, but it focused almost exclusively on the business aspect of Pixar with very little attention to the creative side. I guess that makes sense, since it was written by someone who dealt mostly with the business side of the company, but the book seemed a bit limited in its scope, considering the company is known for its creativity and innovation.

I will be honest, i didn't know too much about Pixar. I knew it had something to do with Disney, and i remember going to the Cinema and loving Toy Story when it came out. I had no idea Steve Jobs was part of it.
This is the story of the early years of Pixar's film story. It was around for a number of years before, but this story starts off in the mid 90's. This is told from the business side, of money and IPOs, and not the creative - i am sure there will be books on that story.
I knew Toy Story was massive, so i just assumed that Pixar was a solid company. This was a eye opener on that. I am positive they are now fully secure under the Disney umbrella, but their early days was basically failing.
They did make history, and one i am sure not many people would know too much about.

Adoré esta lectura porque me hizo aprender mucho sobre Pixar de manera interesante; pero , sobre todo porque encontré en el enseñanzas sobre la vida donde menos las imaginaba.
