I've been a fan of Artemis Fowl for a long time. I loved the original series and I've been waiting for the movie version (hopefully it is a decent movie) for a long time.
I wasn't sure what to think about a new series within the world of Artemis Fowl, but since I loved the original series so much I had to give it a chance. I was not disappointed. Fowl Twins was a great read. Funny, clever and easy to get into. I couldn't put it down and wanted more when I was done.
Using the Fowl twins as the main characters was a really clever thing to do, and then having them be two completely different people who function extremely well as a unit was also a really cool and clever move on the authors part. The other main characters were also really interesting. And the villains were even better. Teddy Bleedham-Drye was great and seems like he will be a thorn in everyone's sides for a long time. And the special agent nun was also a really clever way to change up the villain M.O. and make something new.

Amazingly funny Artemis Fowl spinoff deserves six stars. I couldn't put down the book till the end!

In itself, a cute fast-paced fantasy action book for children, but it has nothing on Artemis Fowl. The two main characters just aren't very interesting, but rather... a little annoying.

Wer erinnert sich noch an Artemis Fowl? Immerhin ist es bald 18 Jahre her seit der erste Teil der 8 Band starken Serie in Deutschland erschienen ist, Wahnsinn, oder? Ich hab die Bücher damals verschlungen und auch die Hörbücher, eingesprochen vom großartigen Rufus Beck hab ich geliebt!
Mit dem ersten Band um die kleinen Brüder von Artemis fängt nun der zweite Zyklus der Fowl-Saga an und ich könnte nicht glücklicher sein! Kleine Seitennotitz für die Quereinsteiger - Man kann die Fowl Zwillinge und der geheimnisvolle Jäger auch ohne Vorkenntnisse der vorherigen Bücher, allerdings ist es doch empfehlenswert. Es sind tolle Bücher.
Der Schreibstil ist wie von Eoin Colfer gewohnt, leicht und witzig, die Dialoge machen Spaß und ich musste mehr als nur einmal laut auflachen.
Myles und Beckett sind großartig, obwohl Beckett ganz klar der tollste überhaupt ist, er mag der IQ-technisch weniger begabte Zwilling, aber er ist ein Macher, hat grenzenloses Vertrauen in seinen Bruder und es ist schön, wie er mit Tieren und vor allem auch mit Whistleblower umgeht. Ich hab mich auch über Teddy sehr amüsiert, ich bin ganz gespannt was wir von dem noch zu erwarten haben.
Ich hab Butler vermisst. Ein Fowl-Roman ohne Butler ist irgendwie nur halb so gut. NANNI war da, klar, aber trotzdem. Mimimi.
Zum Cover muss ich noch ganz kurz zwei Sätze verlieren; ich find es schade, dass vom Design der Ursprungsreihe angewichen wurde, ich mochte das Design supergerne, allerdings wollte man wohl einen Break zwischen den Reihen.
Insgesamt ist Die Fowl Zwillinge und der geheimnisvolle Jäger ein sehr temporeicher, witziger Roman mit jeder Menge Anspielungen auf die Artemis Fowl-Reihe, inklusive alter Bekannter. Es hat mir sehr viel Spaß gemacht mal wieder in die Fantasie von Eoin Colfer abzutauchen und freu mich jetzt schon auf Band 2.

This book is utterly Fowl. In the very best way! I had a thoroughly good giggle reading Eoin Colfer's new Fowl era, romping through Ireland, Amsterdam, Verona
