*swoon*

I gave absolutely loved this series so far, and this latest book was just as great, if not the best so far! It was just adorable, an easy read, and I don't think I'll ever tire of this group of four amazing friends.

Plus there's Santo... Talk about dreamy. He's probably my favorite love interest yet and I am currently very upset that I don't have my very own rich, handsome, cat-loving Italian man 😫

And, as someone who is rapidly coming up on the big 4 - 0 (how?!) it's great to read a romance with older characters. Love isn't only for 20-somethings! 😆 And not just love, but also making big changes in your life, like moving to Italy and going back to school. I'm feeling very inspired (if my life will end up like Emma's!)

A romance in Rome? Sign me up! Emma is a 42-year-old divorcee with 3 kids and a boring ex. She and her three friends moved to different cities in Europe for different reasons. Emma is there to earn her MBA after running her ex-husband's business for years. Before her program gets started, she meets a silver fox named Santo at a bar and reluctantly goes home with him. It's been a long time for her and just as things are heating up, she panics and leaves.

When she starts her MBA, she's shocked to see Santo is one of her professors as well as her new neighbor, only two doors down. These two are both professionals and they do a really good job of avoiding a repeat for a long time, but the forced proximity in their building leads them to lots of close calls. Santo doesn't want to risk his job, and he really doesn't want to be like his father who had a child with his mistress. Things are complicated, but when in Rome!

🔥: Emma is self-conscious about her curvy body, and Santo makes her forget all about her insecurities, which just adds to the spice level. Scenes are medium paced and steamy.
😆: Cute laughs along the way, especially thanks to awkward moments. Who knew a neighbor's dog could be such a cockblock?
😭: No tears here!

So cute! But now I want to go to Italy! This series is so refreshing and inspiring. I love watching the characters grow!

This is another fantastic story in the author’s 𝙰𝙶𝙴𝙳 𝙻𝙸𝙺𝙴 𝙵𝙸𝙽𝙴 𝚆𝙸𝙽𝙴 𝚂𝙴𝚁𝙸𝙴𝚂, they can be read as standalone’s, but I recommend reading them in order, I recommend them all highly and enjoy the four female’s friendship dynamics since the first book.
Emma is in her early 40’s and going back to college in Italy after her divorce. She also definitely wants some good s€x as well. She’s a really relatable and likable character who is inspiring, she’s going after her dreams and realizing her worth.
Santo and Emma met briefly and had an awkward almost hook- up. Later they discover he’s one of her Professors…. and they now live one apartment away from each other. Forbidden romance at its best.
I love that the two get to know each other both in the academic setting and privately. Their chemistry is palpable and builds steadily.
When they throw caution to the wind and hook-up it gets delightfully spicy! This is the steamiest book I’ve read by this author and it fit Emma’s story perfectly.
I love their journey together, the story is quite full despite being a shorter book.
I love the maturity, the feeling of starting fresh after 40 and of course,  Emma’s three besties make many appearances. They are hilarious, supportive and I’m wondering if I can manifest them into real life, they are amazing women and friends.
Also, it’s set in Italy, it doesn’t get much better than that. I love the story and characters, I can’t wait for the next book, yet I’m sad it’s the last girlfriend’s story. I highly recommend this book and series.

Another fun and hot installment in the Aged Like Fine Wine series. Meeting these interesting mature women and being a spectator to their self actualizing adventures in love has been such a treat! In this one we get our curvy, insecure heroine Emma to open herself up to a bunch of new possibilities and one hot older Italian. I really loved her growth and the spicy sweetness between the two of them. You’ve got to start this series!

Thank you to NetGalley and the author for my copy. These opinions are my own.

“Ever since the night Emma ran out, it’s felt like an unfinished sentence. I tasted something and had it taken from me, and I crave more of it.”

I devoured this book in just a few hours. The writing was simple and lively, making the story an addictive page turner. I loved every page of it.
The story happens in Italy, but I didn’t feel so much traveling vibes. I would have loved more descriptions because in the end, if distance is important for Emma’s evolution (and that it’s very well pictured), the story is more a neighborhood one that could have happened anywhere.
That said, the characters are truly endearing. I loved to read (for once!) middle-aged characters. Life doesn’t stop at 25 or 30 and Emma is the perfect example of it. She has spent more than half her life in an unfulfilling marriage and realizes that she still has a lot to learn and discover. Reading about how Emma builds herself a new life, explores her sexuality and job opportunities after 40 was truly inspiring.
She meets Santo in a bar, then understands he’s her professor in her new program which makes things… complicated. However, here too we are more in a story about the guy next door than about a teacher/student relationship (even if it has its importance too). I can’t say I disliked it, on the contrary. Santo and Emma have a lot of chemistry and their living proximity helps them in the way to intimacy.
I loved the side characters, from the absolutely non toxic and completely supportive best friends to Zola the cat, from the NB youngest children to the neurodiversity or the hints about internalized bi-phobia, from the healthy communication to the guard doggie and his strange priorities. All of that was amazing, though I would often have wanted more, to discover the characters even more in depth. In one word, it was just a bit too short!

Thank you NetGalley, Liz Alden and Victory Editing for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Prosecco with my Professor by Liz Alden

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

I really enjoyed this romance with mature main characters (40s/50s) which is set in Italy. The title sold me because I love anything to do with wine. I haven’t read the first three books in the series, but I didn’t feel like I missed any information. It was a well developed story especially considering it was under 250 pages. The main characters had some crazy chemistry and I appreciated some of the real life issues (body image, dealing with divorce, children, etc.) that were handled well.

I do wish the book was a bit longer and explained motivations behind certain side characters actions (I’m trying to be vague to avoid spoilers). I did read this in one sitting and it was the quickest I’ve read an ARC in a hot minute!! Overall, I really enjoyed it!

This is a fun, entertaining read. Santo and Emma are interesting, intriguing, relatable, complex, entertaining, strong, fun characters. I enjoyed them as individuals and a couple. I loved the caretaking scenes. I enjoyed the romance and the path it took to get to their HEA. I love how realistic these characters are and the fact that age doesn’t matter when it comes to our feelings and images of ourselves. The secondary characters added to the fabric of the story. I love the friendships in this story and the role it plays for the main characters. I wish we had seen a certain someone get their just deserts. The story is easy to read and get into.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

After over twenty years of marriage, three kids and a divorce, Emma is ready for something new. But starting an MBA program in a foreign country is proving harder than she had anticipated. When she finds out, that the attractive silver fox, she almost had an one night stand with, is one of her professors, things start to get really difficult.

I LOVE this story, especially the fact that Emma and Santo are in their 40s and 50s, finding love again. Emma has a lot of very relatable issues with being open about what she wants with a new partner after years of living in a sexually boring relationship. But Santo makes it so easy for her to open up and finally enjoy herself.

Emma's female friends are top tier found family, always quick to hype her up, reassure and help her if needed. And they are so flipping funny!! The group chats had me laughing out loud a lot ☺️

If you like relatable MCs, female friendships and stories with a lot of heart, put "Prosecco with my Professor" in your TBR. It's part of a series but can be read as a standalone.
