Tied Bond is where things started going downhill for me. I love the characters of Noelle and Drake and Noelle's crazy, fucked up family but the series following just Noelle and Drake is a little tiresome. I want Bek's story, as well as Brody's and I just don't think we'll be getting that.

Sometimes a good thing can be dragged out (aka Cassandra Clare and her Shadowhunters series) but in this case it doesn't work.

The more this series goes on the more I fall in love with these characters and this author. Tied Bond is book 4 in the Holly Woods Files series. Emma continues to deliver the humor, sass, sexiness, craziness, suspense and la familia we've expected from her. Noelle and Drake are now in a committed relationship, but that hasn't stopped their fighting, yelling, or threatening each other. I always forget how much I love this couple when I'm not reading about them. Drake might be the sexiest cop in the history of books. And, Noelle is funny, crazy, good at her job and perfect for Drake. This time around Drake's mom is the one in the hot seat. Drake can't work her case, but Noelle was asked to help prove her innocence, but she isn't supposed to tell him. She doesn't want to keep it from him which means she's growing up and loving Drake has shown her that she doesn't want to lie to him. But she wants to help his mom and either way he's going to be hurt. There are twists and turns to this story and lots of things happening. Jason? Hello, handsome! One of the reasons I love Drake so much is because he's not afraid to tell it like it is. He loves her, he tells her. He wants more, he asks for more. Even though he knows she's going to freak, he goes out on a limb. Only for her. When secrets come out, will Drake and Noelle be together on the other side? Will Nonna finally make everyone crazy? I've never wanted a series to come out all at the same time before. I just want more!

"I'm always perving on you. It's like my own personal hobby."
"It's scary."
"Suck it up, cupcake. I can perv on you if I want to. I'm your lover."

"I look at you and know I'm crazy. But also know that I'm the luckiest son of a bitch in this town, because I get to wake up at four a.m. to find you sitting in my kitchen with your hair a mess and your makeup smudged, still looking totally fucking beautiful."

"You can pay me in, 'shut the fuck up, you cocky bastard'"
"I'm not aware of that currency. I'm sorry."

This was my least favorite one....the bickering, the back and forth. I didn't think it was as funny. While I love Drake, Noelle was borderline annoying until the last 15% or so. I definitely will be reading the next, just because I am interested in the progression of their relationship, but I hope it's better. It was literally just okay...3 stars

GAHHHH!!! I just love this series sooooo much and this book! GOD!!! I was literally snort laughing my way through it!

And after this book I want a Nonna. No, I seriously do.... Okay, maybe not. Maybe, I do. I just never know with this woman!!! But I do need to meet a real life Nonna, if there is one!!!

REVIEW TO COME!!

Ehh. Much the same as the others only less interesting. Noelle does less investigating and more aimless wandering than the earlier books which is a shame because I enjoy it when she is actually being a smart intuitive detective.

I liked that this book had a lot more personal and family stuff going on with Noelle. I did enjoy the murder case, but it was nice that tbis book felt a bit different. There was a lot more drama with the family and some conflict with her brothers. It was nice to see more growth with Noelle and Drake along with a lot of the side characters. I liked the case about Wally, but it wasn't as complex as the others, given there wasn't as much emphasis on it as compared to other books that makes sense. I really love all the crazy family dynamics going on that make for a funny and interesting story.

*update Reread September 2016 Man, this book was even better the second time around! Getting ready for Burning Bond with a reread of all these books!

I missed these characters!
I know that whenever I read a book in this series I will not be disappointed. These books always make me laugh and the chemistry between Noelle and Drake is always sizzling. I really can't wait and read more about what will happen with them.

The banter between Noelle and Drake was great as always and of course, a Holly Woods book isn't complete without a murder mystery. From the beginning I couldn't really pinpoint the killer until it was closer to the end where things were heating up. I am so glad I found this series last year, it has become one of my ALL TIME favorite series. Everything about Noelle, Drake and the families involved make up the story. Noelle's mom and Nonna had quite a lot going on as well but Nonna sure does shine and surprise us in this book as well ;) I just can't get enough of these characters and I am super excited to keep reading more on them later!

I so totally love this series! The relationship between Noelle and Drake is so sweet! In this one Drake's mother, Gianna, is a suspect in the murder of her ex-husband Wally. Drake is excluded from the investigation as he is too involved but Gianna asks Noelle to help prove her innocence.

While I sometimes wonder why Noelle seems to uncover things the police does not, I enjoy suspending my disbelief and just go with the story. Drake is asking Noelle to further their relationship and Nonna is less irritating this time around and showing her inner Poirot.

I cannot wait for the next one. Will marriage and kids be in the stars for Noelle and Drake? Will there be romance for Bek and Jason or does she crush on Brody? Wish it were June already.
