this book is everything i didn't know i needed or wanted. there is a very cinematic quality to the format, i could see every scene so clearly in my head that if someone hired me to direct it, i'd know exactly how to do it (i'm not joking, someone please hire me, my degree is collecting dust rn). the characters feel real, the la music scene feels vibrant, and i am so enamoured by the idea of a story where no one is a reliable narrator. having said this, the last bit sadly disappointed me. i think the author did a great job with billy's final scene in the 70s, but daisy's somehow made me feel... hollow. i'm also slightly angry at the fact that daisy was reduced to a child being told what to do in the last few pages; i would have liked to see her with more agency considering she was such a hurricane of a human. the big reveal did shock me, but it didn't really hold any weight imo. still, it's a recommend and i thoroughly enjoyed it - i went to bed at 4 am one day because i couldn't put it down, it's just that good.
This book has no plot, it’s just a linear story that often contradicts itself since it’s told from the perspective of several people. It’s one big interview and it’s lovely. I can absolutely see how this was inspired by Fleetwood Mac, and since that’s one of my favorite bands, of course I was going to enjoy this book. Oh also, do yourself a favor and listen to the audiobook version - don’t read this one, just listen. Best narration I’ve heard in ages.
This was a novel that really capitalized on the author’s two strengths: character-building and imaginative premises. The formatting of the story really added to the quality of the book—it reads like a rockdoc, and the evidence of the characters as unreliable narrators gives it an honest authenticity. As I work my way through her writing I find myself really drawn to TJR’s historical fiction: the plots really read as subtle and life-like.
I just...cant right now. Daisy! Billy! CAMILLA!!! JULIA HOLY SHIT! I'm a broken mess. I'll come back to this review later. But for now, FIVE FUCKING STARS!!!

fantastic and easy read novel!
as someone who could barely finish "the seven husbands of evelyn hugo" and only finished it because of stubbornness to finish any book i start, i found "daisy jones & the six" extremely interesting.
i am quite the lover of rock n roll and that is the main reason this book appealed to me. but i was drawn in from the first word and it kept drawing me until i drowned in the world of daisy jones.
i think we are all daisy one way or another and that is the best part.
