Sex, drugs and rock n roll but as a novel. NRN ing. I'm just not invested in any of the characters or the story line. I'm doing the audio and I hate one of the voices of the narrators, very young valley girl sounding, Karen I think? I wanted to like this book but I'm just not vibing with it.
At first I wasn't sure how I felt about it... but eventually I got hooked and I really enjoyed the story/plot! I could so clearly see the characters and their journey through life and the band. By the end of the book I really loved and appreciated the interview/multiple POV style of writing. I can def see why this book is so popular and loved enough to turn into a TV series. Also I was definitely in the group of people that thought this was a real band lol

Took me a while to get through because of school. I like to believe that it was inspired by Fleetwood Mac, but I can’t help but feel like there was no closure or an intense climax throughout the story. Just a retelling of PR stories. Still an interesting read, hope the show is good.

One of the best audiobooks I’ve ever heard due to the structure of the book with multiple characters’ interviews intercut to contradict each other. A beautiful story of fraught creative relationships that I always think about when driving through Laurel Canyon.

It was interesting and the character work was devastatin and real. I feel like I can really relate to Karen in the way that I don't click well with a lot of expectations people have for me being a woman. I think it was hard for me to read at times because I've also been there watching someone's life get more complicated and hurt by their addictions and action and no matter what you do they always end up in the same spot. I think that is was fun and a easy read that had a lot to say about the struggles that comes with being vulnerable and in a creative space that is under a spotlight. I also really enjoyed the transcript format and wish I listened to a audiobook version.
