Utterly charming. This wonderful book kept me company in the hospital this week. I stayed up late to finish it on Saturday night. Now keen to read more of Shaun's work.

Unfortunately, I read this on kindle, which feels sacrilegious, so I’m going to try to find his other books at a second-hand bookshop close by.
What a treat! If you like books, book people and bookstores then you’ll love this deep inside look at the most charming bookshop in Wigtown Scotland. Every diary entry includes the number of customers and register total for the day. It’s an eye-opening reminder to stop in and buy a few things from our indie booksellers. They’re not getting rich, but they are enriching our lives.
There daily goings on documented include plenty of quirky locals, customers with not enough sense and a rotating cast of amusing booksellers, plus lots of book buying adventures and mentions of many great books to read.

Good fun for book lovers and lovers of ‘Black Books’-style humour.

I also enjoyed this book. It's a bit of a dive into the past as well. I was in Scotland when the UK voted for Brexit, and reading about Shaun waking up to the UK having voted Leave takes me back in time. I wish I could live and work in Wigtown too, I know it's not an easy life but I'd prefer it. Please write a sequel, Shaun! Your epilogue was way too short.
Enjoyable read not unlike Bridget Jones meets Blackbooks. Diary style about a second hand bookshop and the customers (or not) who appear in his shop and the family and friends who surround him
