I guess I’m between a 2 and a 3 here.
I’m not familiar with the genre, so I may not have the best review but I found this to be kind of unbelievable. The twists and turns, while surprising, didn’t seem hinted at throughout the book. The dialogue was stilted. The characters were a little unrealistic.
However, it was easy and interesting to read. Despite most of the action being in the second half of my book, it did keep my attention. So, I commend that.
That last twist though... kind of an odd way to end a book (I know it’s a series but).

I must say I did not figure out the ending. It does leave room for another book, but it can be read as a stand alone.

Definitely loaded w twists and turns.. once again, I did not realize it is part of a series. Toon me w while to get into it, but the middle third flew by!

4.5 - I think the main character is a total badass, and I have enjoyed the first 2 books. I can't wait to start the 3rd one!

Fast paced, thrilling and definitely better than the first book in the series!
