I gave this 4 stars at first, but after some pondering and reading the introduction and notes of the very extensively annotated penguin classic version I must say I love this book. It's so nonsensical with some poignant messages spread throughout. I will be rereading this one day.

J'ai adoré les choix des traducteurs à rendre les mots de Lewis Carroll compréhensible (ou pas!) dans une manière divertissante!

I forgot how bizarre this book is and how nonsensical it is. Still enjoyable at times to read.

I want to know what Alice and sir Carroll were on when they respectfully dreamed and wrote the book.

The art? 10 Stars ⭐️ one of the most mesmerizing styles I've ever seen inside a standard edition (Loputyn I'm sorry I did not know who you were before today but rest assured you have a new hard-to-die fan who will follow you until the very end).

The story? Meh? I have yet to read the original classic version but for now this is a 2/2.5 ⭐️ in terms of story.

If only I could give separate stars for cover and plot

In general it's a 3⭐️ even if it does hurt my heart >_>

Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland" is undoubtedly a literary classic that has enchanted readers for generations. However, my experience with this celebrated work left much to be desired.

From the moment Alice tumbled down the rabbit hole, I found myself lost in a bewildering maze of absurdity and abstraction. While some may revel in Carroll's whimsical wordplay and surreal scenarios, I found it to be a frustrating and disorienting journey.

The lack of a coherent narrative and the relentless barrage of nonsensical characters and events made it challenging to engage with the story on any meaningful level. Rather than sparking wonder and intrigue, the book's absurdity left me feeling disconnected and perplexed.

Despite its undeniable influence on literature and culture, "Alice in Wonderland" ultimately failed to resonate with me. Its abstract nature and lack of a clear narrative thread left me struggling to find enjoyment or meaning in its pages.

While I can appreciate its place in the canon of children's literature and its lasting impact, I cannot in good conscience recommend "Alice in Wonderland" to readers seeking a coherent and satisfying storytelling experience.
