I'm not sure what I was expecting when I started this, although I know it's no fault of Carroll's that the book is overdone by now.

I didn't get anything more out of the ever-famous quotes than I did hearing them the first times, and I didn't connect with any of the characters. They were all so full of themselves that at the end, I didn't feel anything for anyone.

It's imaginative, which is a plus, but it's not that good. The book was all over the place, which I know is the point, but it didn't do the work any favors, in my opinion. I don't think the themes are either emphasized enough or original for the piece, so for me, this was a lot of stuff pushed together back to back that could have been much more developed.

Maybe I would have enjoyed this more had I read it as a kid, but I don't think that should be a requirement for something heralded as a "classic."

This version is way better than the Disney version (I mean it's the original) and you know what's the most entertaining ? It's to try to find all of the references to drugs/mental illnesses .

Last two chapters were basically The Trial by Franz Kafka

An enjoyable read. Lots of fun wordplay and logic play, as well as amusing characters; my favorite has always been the dormouse, who constantly says "Treacle."
