When i first started this book,I wasn't too sure where this was headed, it was super mysterious and quite frankly I was a bit confused. But this changed so quickly, and I couldn't believe that I almost put this book down.
Naz' character is amazing, learning to be independent, repairing her relationships and trying to overcome multiple hardships, she is a force to be reckoned with! But when Jordan entered the picture, I honestly could not keep up. The story moves quickly and their relationship unravels as they struggle to keep their feelings at bay. The only element that I didn't particularly enjoy was Naz' reasoning around the fact that Jordan did not disclose a certain aspect of his life which led to her reluctance to dive into a relationship.
But in addition to the story, the romance, the tension and angst is the way in which the author touches on mental health representation and the difference between cultures for this biracial couple! I truly could not put this book down!

"I won't say, I know what it's like to be a woman in a male-dominated field, but I do know what it's like being the only person in the room that looks different. Representing women-Indian women- in this field is a big deal, and I know how it feels like to lose something you had to work extra hard for."

This was a really cute book, Bal did a good job with her debut novel.
A code for love is about Sarvenaz who leaves her parents in Canada and moves to New York to start a new job and get away from her past. At her new apartment in new york, she meets a man in grey sweats who she dislikes at first but ends up working for grey sweats aka Jordan.
Some things i liked about this book was the representation, I felt seen by the depiction of immigrant parents and culture. I also liked how normal the romance build-up was, it wasn't anything crazy but just a sweet and simple romance story.
Some other thoughts I had when reading this was how low-stakes the issues in the book were, I didn't think that there were any serious conflicts and even how Jordan and Naz got together was kinda anti-climatic. I still really like them, at first I also didnt think the book was that spicy but when I got to a particular chapter I realized that i was wrong lol.
Overall a nice easy read, read this if you like

absolutely loved the writing style, easy to read and a little witty, now about the characters, I LOVE JORDAN EVANS, he's so vocal about his emotions for naz and has supported her whole heartedly throughout everything she was going through.
FOR THE FIRST TIME i really liked the female character, stubborn but smart and resilient (jordan's words not mine)
i'd write longer ab this book but i'm currently on the verge of passing out after staying up reading it
expecting so much more from the author !!
