This was great! Loved the gothic vibe and rage. I haven’t read Dracula yet, but the characterization in this story was so rich that I am excited to do so with Constanta in mind! Removing one star because, at times, the writing was style over substance, becoming more of a poetic diatribe than anything else. Also, ST Gibson needs to mix up her language a bit more (thinking to her repeated and annoying use of phrases and words like “catch my drift” and “ministrations”).

I wish I had read this book earlier! I am a Dracula lover through and through so I was a bit weary but I found such a lovely and heart wrenching satisfaction in this book. The relationships they have with one another and him are complex especially Constanta. I could relate to some of the suffering she went through and it gave me a sort of power over my struggles looking at things from her older wiser perspective. She did what she needed to in order to protect herself and her loves in the end.
