s.t. gibson this is lived up to my expectations!!!! the prose and narration was well done. if constanta's voice was any different i probably would've hated this book lol.

I think it was a solid book, but to me it felt not really special. It's hard to describe, but basically at no point was I really surprised at a turn the story took, or how the characters behaved (and I can be very oblivious!). Some things were roughly foreshadowed, of course, but generally I don't think this book will stick with me long. Kudos for the queer representation though, this is for obvious reasons always a plu

Ok, this book knocked my socks off. These richly layered characters are entwined in complex relationships that smack of everything taboo. This is a Dracula story, but it’s not a story about Dracula. In fact, our crepuscular leading lady pointedly refuses to use his name at all in this spooky love letter from hell. If you like vengeance narratives, sweeping historical gothics, and of course, queer yearning, then this is a must read.
