The endless, needless description s of every single thing made reading this book unbearable.

This was a good start on a new cozy mystery. Enjoyed it a lot and I really wanted to continue with the series. But I don't know if it's my book app who doesn't have the second on or this series don't have any more books in it yet. But I did see that there where at least another series by her to read on the app. Lucky day!

This is my first time reading this author and it will not be the last! I loved the story from the get go!

Sarah, the main character, is so down to earth and relatable (sans the paranormal stuff) that I couldn't help but relate to her! Her colleagues are just as easily relatable. I enjoyed how the author wrote the mystery like I was standing right beside Sarah watching everything happen with her. She described the areas she was at and transitioned well from one place to the next!

This is a clean read with no strong language or intimate moments. It did talk about other characters having affairs, but no details. I will be keeping an eye out for more Dr. Danger books since Sarah is technically "not yet!" a doctor!

This book was like a breath of fresh air when it comes to mysteries. Sarah Danger, a clairempath, works as a PI in-training for her friend's, Jeff, agency. They take a case in Hawaii that involves a mystery virus that is spontaneously heating people up from the inside. They will be investigating what caused it; whether natural or supernatural. Once on the big island, Jeff has a minor heart attack which puts him on bed rest. This leaves Sarah to step up to lead investigator. She isn't too sure but she does what needs to be done. With the help of the rest of the team, Sarah interviews the people involved and hikes the volcano park where the scene seemed to start. Needless to say, Volcano activity; Pele; cheating; revenge; and rituals are all part of the puzzle. A lot of puzzle solving with this one. Good book that leaves you thinking. Intriguing facts about Hawaii and Hilo. Highly recommend.

Sarah Danger is an assistant investigator while also working towards her doctorate in comparative mythology and counselling, she enjoys all the parts of her life, however, this trip to Hawai’i with her boss to investigate his latest case is a once in a lifetime opportunity, although the reason they are investigating is less than happy. The client who has hired them has asked them to investigate a mysterious illness which is currently affecting one of their family members, it is an illness which causes the affected person to have a progressive nausea, a headache, a fever which cannot be treated and which raises until the person’s organs fail and someone has already perished.

As they prepare to arrive in Hawai’i, Sarah’s boss asks her to come up with a plan for when they land, she decides to conduct the interviews with the patient and their family members first, followed by the doctor treating them and finally the family of the person who died, they agree that it is the best course of action before going for a meal and settling in so that they can get an early start the next day. As the investigation progresses, Sarah has to call on her clairempathy during the interview to try and find out about the emotions the interviewee is feeling and how it corresponds with the answers they were giving, however, things don’t quite go as planned when one of the team ends up in hospital and another has to be brought in and Sarah is thrust into a leadership role she is not sure she is comfortable with.

As more information is found and more cases are found, a pattern emerges and t is looking more likely to be a supernatural rather than a biological nature, this is where Sarah’s expertise really comes to the fore as she researches into the new possibilities with her team. Will they be able to figure out who and what is behind the mysterious illness and how they can remedy it before those affected succumb to its affects? This is a cozy mystery with a supernatural element, which will draw you in and keep you reading through the twists and turns until the conclusion.

Island mystery with a sidekick of fun!
What a fun ride. The mystery kept me guessing and the twists and turns kept me on my toes. I really enjoyed the blend of paranormal, mythology and cozy mystery. The characters were so quirky and really kept the story flowing along. The way that Sarah describes her empathic abilities and how she uses them was fascinating. I highly recommend this for teens and up.

This is the first book in a new series for this author which I enjoyed from start to finish. This is a suspenseful story that I found to be fast paced and hard to put down. I enjoyed how the characters were connectable and how they kept the story engaging. The author’s use of details not only kept me turning pages but also brought the story to life. I enjoyed watching the growth in this story and wanting to know what happened next. This is a story about a group of locals becoming ill from something unknown and an assistant investigator who is on the case. Sarah is excited when she is called to work on a case with her boss. She is faced with using her abilities to solve a case that could just turn deadly for her. Will she be able to solve this case in time or will she be next? I really enjoyed what she brought to the story and how the secondary characters are supportive of her character. The twists and turns had me second guessing in parts. This is a great suspenseful story that I would highly recommend.

This was a brand new author for me, and seriously they had me hooked! I literally could not put this one down! The characters and the plot and how everything entwined as things happened and were pieced together I was left constantly wanting more!

This novel follows a mystery on an island. People are getting sick, and I mean really sick. Its a mystery at hands for sure, but to what cause? Hawaii is a very nice place and well cared for, but why are the people dying from a sickness that seems to kill them in horrid and bizarre ways?

Then we have Sarah here. She is a lead investigator assigned to this mystery and this case. She struck me as someone right off the bat as she will get to the bottom of it no matter what. Would she though? That was the most true question at hands. Sarah trying to figure this out, but it seems to prove more difficult than the obvious statements would have let on! All in all, this mystery and the less obvious behind why the illness that is killing people was more intriguing than I would have ever thought.

I tend to be a scientist myself, believing there is always a explanation to very issue. In this case it really had me scratching my head. Nothing was adding up. No sense of a infection causing these things...what could it be? Perhaps something more less of not of a common issue of this world maybe?

Sarah had a sharp mind and she was very much a inquisitive individual. She had good group of people in her life, and together they were working together to figure out what was going on. As I read on I had my suspicions, and I will admit, I was off. It was not what I guessed and the true conclusion to the mystery was even better my own thoughts. It wrapped up very nicely! And the author defiantly used her tricks' to keep myself as the reader in suspense to keep reading to figure out what is going on this island!

I loved Sarah so much. She was such a kick ass awesome character. As well as her I loved reading about Hawaii, I truly felt at times of my duration of this book that I was on the case with Sarah and the gang trying to figure things out, and draw clues to piece together in this puzzle! The author is great at the suspense and the word building, and they did an amazing novel! I will for sure be reading the next in the series and see what new dangers Sarah and her group face and have to figure out! This was a fun, fast paced read full of amazing components as well as these characters! I highly recommend reading!

I love finding new authors! Hazard in Hawaii by Heather Silvo was excellent. It caught my attention quick, the characters felt relatable. It was fast paced, and had me quickly turning pages to find out what happened next. I especially related to the main character, Sarah. I found her to be funny and likable. Relating to main characters always makes it an easier and better read. Heather Silvo’s attention to detail throughout the story helped me feel like I was right there watching it happened. There’s no foul language so if you’re put off by that then this is the book for you. I think that you’ll enjoy it, like I did. I’m excited to read other books by Heather Silvo and will be waiting for the next book in the series.
