"Every woman wants a man who'll fall in love with her soul as well as her body."

I enjoyed this story so much! I happen to really like texting/emails/chat logs in stories, so that aspect of it really spoke to me. I think the romance was really cute and sweet at times. And all the characters were pretty great in my opinion.

I just don’t understand. The whole setup for a job is weird and the relationship is creepy. He’s reading her emails and falling in love? Wtf. There isn’t even flirting or buildup with each other.

the way that this is probably rainbow rowell's least problematic book and it literally involves cyberstalking...

I enjoyed this book so much, I read on my kindle and listened to the audio. The narrator was initially a little squeaky but somehow, it ended up she fit. I didn't not like one single character. I really related to Beth because she laughed in the book during the movie Titanic, I have yet to meet another real live person who laughed during that movie other than me. This book was sort of a romance, but seemed so real and adorable, I found myself rooting for the main characters...they deserved one another. Truly.

This was really cute and I liked how the story was told, that we get to know Beth through her conversations with Jennifer,
we & Lincoln don't meet her until the end.

Lincoln is a tall, bigger guy and he dated a tiny petite girl named Sam since high school. He even went to the same college to be with her. She tests their relationship, asking him if he's ever worried they'll never have been with anyone else to which he says no he's madly in love with Sam. He catches her kissing another theater kid and they break up.

9 years later in 1999 Lincoln is working IT at this news company where his job is to read people's flagged emails. This is how he discovers Beth and Jennifer who work as copy editors (Beth is a movie reviewer) and send tons of personal emails to each other. Beth has been in a long-time relationship with her rock-band boyfriend Chris. Jennifer is married to Mitch and she's pregnant. Chris wants kids but Beth thinks its too soon, but then there's hilarious antics where she finds herself going into Baby GAP (maybe I'm mixing up Beth and Jennifer idk) and buying things. Lincoln continues to be invested in their emails and starts to really like Beth as a person. He hears both of their partner struggles.

Lincoln even goes to Chris' show one night and meets him. Then it turns out Beth has seen Lincoln and calls him the hot guy. He feels weird but pleased. Jennifer questions Beth for being interested in this hot guy when she's with Chris. Eventually Chris breaks up with Beth and at the same time Jennifer miscarries. Soon after this Lincoln feels like he can't keep doing this job so he quits and sends an email to Beth coming clean about how he's been reading all their emails and that they should be more careful in future.

Time goes by and they meet finally at a movie theater where they instantly hit it off.

I loved this book so much ❤ The beginning was a bit slow, but after the beginning I loved every second of reading this book.

I really enjoyed this book, not as much as fangirl, but it was worth the read. I like the fact we also were able to see the emails Lincoln was reading rather then just being told in his point of view. It gave us a chance to get to know Beth and Jennifer without actually meeting them right away (though I guess we did meet them right away lol). I don't think I could do what Lincoln did, reading peoples email! I get he did feel guilty and it was his job, but still! It did help him find love so I guess that is a plus!
