I totally loved this book. It isn't the kind of book I usually like, being about a society on another planet. Not a genre I am keen on but it has such charm, is so gripping, inventive, I loved it.

A book about how origin stories are created and altered through time, as well as how and individual with a sense of how these tales are made can be shaped in his actions when he realizes that history may judge him according to who writes the next chapters.

All of it set on a unique and fascinating world, makes for a great read.

Did not realize this was the first in a series, but can not help but want to see how the story unfolds.

Will be looking up the others in the series.

Couldn't get into the repetition of words as indicators of some sort of divergently devolved society (saying "he was smart smart" instead of "he was very smart"). Didn't find the romance or characters interesting. BUT I was apparently interested enough to finish it, so there's that.

2,5. There are aspects with this novel that I really enjoyed, but over all it was just ok.
