 Of course Kalona is different.

Is it weird I prefer the evil Kalona?

I will finish this damn series even if it literally kills me. And the further I read, it feels like it might

The beginning of the book was interesting but the rest was just okay. Kind of ruins the nostalgia I had for the main series. I’m also really tired of Neferet. I feel like there could be another villain in this alternate universe, something different would be more interesting. I’m going to read the last book but still don’t think this book lives up to the series overall.

This book… I have read every book in the HoN series, I have read the spin-off books, and I feel like the writing has just devolved?  All of the characters were prophetic, and dumb. The ‘good’ characters would talk about something, or doing something and then it jumps to the ‘bad’ characters and they do exactly what the previous group discussed. The dialogue was also bizarrely aged down. I do not recall the writing being this painful before and it’s made me put the series in storage, which is so sad. I’ve read these books since being in highschool, 2009/2010 being the first time I read them.

4.5....Ummmm, when is the next one coming out?? Hi, I am a HON junkie and I don't want to be saved! This book is no different! So very well done! Characters beloved and new are just amazing...I can't wait to see what happens next with them all! Neferet is an evil all her own...Done so very right!

I have mixed feelings about this one, which is strange because I always absolutely love House of Night books (I know, the majority thinks it's trash but what can I say? I just love it!).

I loved the beginning, because I'm a sucker for the Kalona/Nyx/Erebus storyline - always have and always will - and I loved this new version of Kalona and Erebus. Makes me very hopeful for the last book of this saga.

But, what I didn't like were so many chapters of Neferet and Lynette. I don't like them. At all. They are boring. I much rather prefer to learn about them through Zoey (which we didn't get enough of in this book!!!) And through the Other Kevin.

Also, I wish we had some Aphrodite chapters, because there's no such thing as too much Aphrodite.

That being said, I can't wait until the release of the ending of this saga!!!!
