Excellent storycrafting, worldbuilding and strong and dark themes. What happens to the world after the evil overlord has been vanguished is a question few fantasy books have asked, and this books does a good job exploring the answers. Most of the characters the readers loved in the first book are back with more depth, and some interesting newcomers are added to the mix.

In some ways this book was darker than its predecessor, and I'm not entirely convinced that all of those horrors were necessary. Especially
Tindwyl's past and death
felt like it was written for cheap shock value.

However, I trust Sanderson to bring this series to a satisfying conclusion.

One of the best books I have read in some time. The story was excellent, with several plot twists that were both unexpected and interesting, and the characters believable.

The only thing I could say against it was the annoying habit of explaining what all the metals do every five pages, but that is a minor inconvenience.

Again, all of the stars.
I really don't understand how Mr Sanderson does it. I don't.

really really solid. i shipped breeze and clubbs the whole damn book. i didn't experience any of the difficulty i had reading the first book way back when with the physical copy of this one, but i'm excited to hear graphic audio's rendition of it once i've had time to let it digest

The least interesting of the series. Feels like a place holder between the first and the last
