I’m not a big fan of the prose poetry style. I think I prefer poetry I have to dissect and think about and this is very straightforward. I did really enjoy the LGBTQ representation and description of her love with a woman. I am not sad I read this collection, I still enjoyed it but if you’re looking for something deep, this won’t be it.

I found this book at my local bookstore and was immediately drawn to it. Is it totally profound and lyrical? No, but it feels personal. I felt like the author and I were having a conversation, and that made the reading experience super special. Some of the poems I read weren't as good (or were just a sentence), but there were a lot I really related to. I kept finding myself wanting to sit down and write some of my own poems. Overall, a good quick read!
