Not gonna lie I wasn't happy with the change from the Rogue's to the Wraith's but they all grew on me in the end - particularly Ton and Face.

Allston continues the story of the X-Wing series with the addition of his own characters. Here Wedge creates another squadron, call Wraith Squadron, consisting of rebel outcasts who are on the edge. His plan is to construct a team that has both flight skills and on the ground commando skills. The story itself revolves around the seeking of Warlord Zjinj. After their base is attacked they manage to gain control of an Empire ship where they are able to continue the ship's mission log, while attacking empire spots without them knowing they have that ship.
It's a good entry into the series and continues the X-Wing story with a new writing style and characters.

This book was enjoyable but it didn't reach the heights of any of the previous entries in the series. Certainly worth a read though.

👥POV: multiple first person

💭: Wedge Antilles and the replacement for Iceheart are some of the many characters we follow in the 5th installment of the X-wing series.
What I loved:
- Admiral Trigit
- Piggy, Runt and Grinder
- Yokel Group
- They’re basically pirates now 🏴☠️
- Epic ending!
What I wasn’t a fan of
- Slow to start
- Not sure where the series goes from here
Overall, I absolutely enjoyed this book! With how things ended I’m not sure where everything will move forward from here but still looking forward to the next installment in the series since there’s a few unanswered questions lingering
