A really sweet read and a great 'coming of age' story.. Although I did get a little bored in a few chapters I still enjoyed it.

The ending pissed me off. I felt there was no reason for that to happen.

"I have to admit that I would read Jennifer Weiner's grocery lists I'm pretty sure -- so if you have enjoyed her other books, I believe you won't be disappointed with Certain Girls. I enjoyed how the story was told from different perspectives, and the overall pace of the story was great. I enjoyed the character development of Cannie's daughter - but I was sad to see how Cannie became middle aged (as many of us do...myself included) and I did ponder that a bit -- a good book gives you a chance to reflect without being too sad about it all. ...less"

I feel like I missed out on something not having read any of her other books before. I found it in general a good read, although sometimes a little self absorbing. I think it highlighted the mother/daughter relationship cycle well and also that "blended" or "non-traditional" families are now the norm and take many shapes and forms. However, I feel that there was at time too much of the religious culture in there but at other times I loved the details and meanings behind events that I have been around but not involved directly in. The book overall left me unsure to wether or not I would read any of her other books.

Very good. Very heart wrenching. Some story twists took me by surprise but always believable and easy to follow along.

would recommend BUT I need a funny, light hearted book now.

A typical Weiner book. A light, fast read and a good follow up to the story.

After reading Good In Bed, I was looking forward to this book. I'm not a big fan of Chick Lit, but Cannie won me over.

This was very disappointing. The wit and humor of the first book was missing in this one. I didn't like her daughter and I didn't really like how Cannie doted over her. It just wasn't a healthy relationship...

A light, entertaining book. A good family story. Perfect beach read.

This book was by no means Jennifer Weiner's best book. But as usual, the characters were very likable, I could identify with the situations, it was education, it was amusing, and it was devastating. On the whole, I really enjoyed it and didn't want the story to end.

This sequel started out promising, but ended up all over the place. The 13-year-old character's conflicts were enough to carry the book all the way to the end. I'm not sure why the author felt the need to throw the additional "curveball" near the end which, for me, made the book fall apart at the end. However, I still enjoy Jen Weiner's writing & will continue to read all her books!
