This wasn't quite five stars, but you can't give half stars on Goodreads.

I've been a big fan of Kristen Britain from the beginning. This book was long. It felt long. A lot happened, but did there need to be so many things? Great character development, and I can already see the next book and new arcs playing out.

I honestly though the series would end at the last book as that felt like a nice ending, but I guess I am the only one who thinks so. Suppose we call all wait for the eighth and final book.

Absolutely amazing. This was a bit of a roller coaster ride for Karigan, but that's nothing unusual. I liked how she was doing lot of self evaluation, and we got to see how other people view her deeds and experiences. She continues to be flabbergasted by all of the attention, and has some real mental and physical issues to overcome.
We get to see how the Elt Wood looks at one point, and it's obvious that the Eletians are up to something fishy!
I'm happy with how this book ended, but some plot likes were obviously saved for the next book- and I hope we get to see it (somewhat) soon. Several losses in the book were heartbreaking for different reasons, and ones is still undecided. We also get an ominous prophecy of sorts for Karigan's future.
Overall it was another top notch novel from Ms. Britain. I was thoroughly enthralled with the book, and am excited to see what she has in store for us next.

DNF around 20%. I really enjoyed the Green Rider books many moons ago, but for me they kinda jumped the shark around Mirror Sight o'clock. It's been years since I read the last book, I struggle to remember who all the characters are and what their deal is... and frankly I'm just not invested anymore. 800+ page fantasy epics used to be my JAM when I was a teenager, but these days I prefer shorter books, tighter plots, and well-defined character arcs. Maybe I'll come back to epic fantasy someday and revisit the Green Rider books... until then... I'm regretfully putting this series aside.

I really enjoyed this - it feels like we've come to the beginning of a new arch (especially after Mirrorsight) and I enjoyed the time we spent with the other Riders. Overall there were some pacing issues for me, and the Nyssa storyline just doesn't sit right with me, but I genuinely appreciated Britain's exploration of trauma and acknowledgement of how the violence they each experience may affect them rather than it just being ignored! Excited to pick up book 8 when it comes!
